1965 GMC C1500

Front bumper view of a dark blue 1965 GMC C1500

This Restomod had body work and paint done, including a door skin, replaced B-pillar corner, custom bed panels made with a planishing hammer and English wheel, a wood bed painted black to factory style, and a dark blue paint job.

New Door Skin

A new door skin was bought off-the-shelf to replace the door skin. The outer skin was pulled off, then welded onto the new skin, and the whole thing was epoxied.

Smashed B-Pillar Replacement

A corner on the driver-side B-pillar was smashed and needed to be replaced. Because a replacement part was not available for sale, a replacement part was salvaged from a car in a junk yard instead. The new part was welded into place seamlessly.

Custom Bed Panels

Custom bed panels were made on the planishing hammer and English wheel.

New Dark Blue Paint

After body work and high build were complete, the vehicle body was sand-blasted and epoxied. After being made completely smooth, the main body and bed panels were painted dark blue, with white paint on the roof and front bumper. Instead of staining, the wooden bed was painted black to factory standard.
